How much leeway do I have with the tux at a black tie wedding?

We are having a Black tie event, and feel that for our gentlemen guests it would be more than fine if they chose to have in lieu of a bowtie a euro tie for their tuxedo. We personally would even be fine with a gentleman guest to wear a dark suit in lieu of a tuxedo. Just my thoughts for you.
