How long does it take to get a tourist visa converted to a student visa?

If you entered the U.S. under the visa waiver program, you cannot extend your stay or change your status. See 1st website below. you need to ask the college how they plan to get you a student visa...does not sound right to me. See second site for info on student visas. It can take up to 120 days to get the student visa. ASK the college more details..if they say they can do this, they should have the answers.
