Gallbladder troubles?

I am having symptoms of a gallbladder attack. about 7 or 8 months ago i was having the same symptoms. i had a ultrasound and hida scan done. they found alot of sludge then. now my doctor is sending me to a surgeon. would he plan to go on and take it out or just send me for more test
